GCSE Geography Field Trip
Posted on 19/03/2025Today, as part of their GCSE course, our Year 11 Geography students enjoyed an Urban Regeneration field trip which allowed them to experience their learning in the real world and practice essential geography fieldwork skills.
Students studied the impact of urban regeneration on Stratford and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London. They undertook a variety of fieldwork enquiries considering the impact of regeneration on the quality of the environment, the services available to people and they talked to local people about their views on the need for and the impact of regeneration.
Students also had the opportunity to ride the Helix – the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide at 178m in length and enjoy the cityscape from the top of the Arcelor Mittal Orbit sculpture.
