Year 2 Mountfitchet Castle Trip
Posted on 18/06/2024Today, our Year 2 children were very excited for their day trip to Mountfitchet Castle. This term, they are focusing on ‘We are Britain’ and one of the aspects they are studying is castles.
The trip enabled the children to be able to take a closer look at what life was really like living in a castle. They also very much enjoyed the opportunity to look at the ‘Toy Museum’ on site. Our children explored the different buildings and siege weapons of Mountfitchet Castle which has been re-constructed on its original historic ancient site to provide a unique insight into community life in Domesday England.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to immerse themselves within a living history allowing a hands-on and interactive experience.
