Scholars' Education Trust Cup
Posted on 21/06/2024Since September, Sports Leaders from the Samuel Ryders Sports Academy programme, have gained valuable skills and experience by supporting/delivering sessions for the PE department across a wide range of extracurricular clubs.
Alongside this commitment, they have also worked towards achieving a level 2 qualification in “Community Sports Leadership” (through the Leadership Skills Foundation). The culmination of this course requires them to plan and deliver a range of events to showcase the skills that they have learned this year. Consequently, over the last three Wednesday afternoons, schools from within the Scholars’ Trust have competed in the inaugural Scholars’ Cup.
Our leaders delivered a range of sports competitions across three different age ranges. Communication, teamwork and problem solving skills were evident throughout and all of the competitors were a credit to their respective schools. It’s been a real privilege to witness their leadership skills develop over the course of the year. They should all be very proud of what they have achieved this year.
The overall winners for each competition:
U9’s (Year 4) Harpenden Academy
U11’s (Year 6) Samuel Ryder Academy
U13’s (Year 8) Sir John Lawes School
