The Great Bookish Bake-Off was back this week to much excitement across the school! Throughout the week, talented bakers in Years 7-10 and staff created cakes themed around a book.

The level of skill this year was truly outstanding - thank you to all that took part. It was wonderful to see how reading has inspired such passion and creativity.

Cakes were judged on presentation, design, taste, texture, overall impression and enjoyment.

Many congratulations to our overall winners:

1st place - Eloise R (Alice in Wonderland);

2nd place - Madeleine J & Anya B (Harry Potter dragon);

3rd place - Betsi E (The Hunger Games).

This year, we also awarded first and second prizes for taste and design within each day:

Staff:

• Design:  1st place - Mr Moore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and 2nd place - Miss Gibbons (Bananas in Pyjamas)
• Flavour: 1st place - Miss Gibbons (Bananas in Pyjamas) and 2nd place - Miss Butcher (The Very Hungry Caterpillar)

Years 7 and 8:

• Design:  1st place - Betsi E (The Hunger Games) and 2nd place - Ella Y (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
• Flavour: 1st place - Alice P (Alice in Wonderland) and 2nd place - Gracie L (Heartstopper)

Years 9 and 10:

• Design: 1st place - Madeleine J & Anya B (Harry Potter dragon) and 2nd place - Eloise R (Alice In Wonderland)
• Flavour: 1st place - Thomas L (Matilda) and 2nd place - Eloise R (Alice in Wonderland)
