Go Push, go! Climate Activist visits Samuel Ryder Academy
Posted on 06/10/2021
Year 12 and 13 students (along with a year 7 representative from the school newspaper) enjoyed an informative and inspiring visit from climate activist Puspanath “Push” Krishnamurthy on Tuesday morning. Push is walking the 400 miles from London to the Glasgow COP 26 climate change conference. He met students from Samuel Ryder Academy in order to tell them about his activism and also to answer their questions and take their messages to the climate conference. The students had some really thoughtful comments and questions ranging from the barriers to activism that lockdown created to the current climate protests on motorways. Inspired by Push and his walking, we are going to encouraging as many students as possible to join Oxfam’s 1.5km climate March around our field at SRA. We want to thank Push (and Hilary from Oxfam) very much for his visit and to wish him the best of luck with the rest of his journey. Go Push, go!
