Primary students involved in reforesting and 'chatting' with trees.
Posted on 16/03/2020As we move closer towards the completion of the exciting new building works, each class in Primary will be adopting and gifting trees in a joint reforestation project between the school and our chosen construction company, TG Escapes.
The trees will be planted for us by Tree Adoption Uganda, who work to tackle both climate change and youth unemployment in their local community.
Each of the trees planted is recorded with the location and date of planting, and includes a picture of both the tree and local farmer taking care of it.
Primary students will be able to virtually travel to each tree planted on a TreeTracker app, using amazing satellite maps.
Through the app, the children can see the trees, track, name and even 'chat' to them, helping them to learn more about the importance of sustainability and the environmental challenges we face.
In total, a small forest of 500 trees will be planted on behalf of the school, and allocated to classes right the way across the school.
