Headteacher's Welcome

Head of School head shot 2025Welcome to Samuel Ryder Academy. I am incredibly proud to lead our Academy and to work alongside a team of talented and committed staff who share a clear belief: every young person has the potential to achieve more than they ever imagined possible.

As an all-through school, educating children from 4 to 19, we offer a unique educational journey. Our primary, secondary and sixth form phases work closely together to provide seamless progression, while ensuring that every student receives the care, challenge and support they need to flourish. We know our students as individuals, celebrating their talents and helping them to overcome barriers so that they can achieve their very best.

At the heart of our Academy are our ACE values: Achievement, Care and Excellence. These values shape who we are and guide the decisions we make every day. We expect our students to strive for Achievement, to show Care for themselves, one another and their community, and to pursue Excellence in everything they do. Together, they provide a shared language and a clear sense of what it means to be part of Samuel Ryder Academy.

Our commitment to an Education for a changing world sits alongside these values. We combine high academic expectations with a broad and ambitious curriculum that fosters curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. Alongside strong foundations in English, mathematics, science, humanities and languages, our students have opportunities to excel in the arts, technology, sport and a wide range of enrichment activities.

We are equally proud of the opportunities we provide beyond the classroom. Student leadership, enrichment, creativity, sport and wider experiences help our young people develop the confidence, character and skills they need to thrive in an increasingly diverse and competitive world.

Our success is built on strong relationships and a shared commitment to excellence. We set high expectations because we believe our students are capable of meeting them, and we work collaboratively with families and our wider community to help every young person succeed.

Our ambition is simple: to provide a transformational education experience that enables every student to leave Samuel Ryder Academy as a responsible young adult, proud of what they have achieved, with accomplishments beyond their imagination and ready to make a positive contribution to our shared community.

I hope you enjoy exploring our school and discovering all that Samuel Ryder Academy has to offer.
