Bully-free form success

8 May 2017

Months of hard work from Year 7s sees all forms declared 'bully-free'.

Last week saw the culmination of months of hard work from our Year 7 students and tutor team through the bully-free form assessment day.  Judges from across the Sir John Lawes Academies Trust were treated to a series of student-led presentations, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the issues surrounding bullying.  Students performed dramatic extracts, displayed insightful animations, harmonised through inspirational songs and showcased creative posters and poetry.

Students confidently answered questions from the judges, showing the depth of their research. While students are confident in the scarcity of bullying at Samuel Ryder Academy, all form groups identified both proactive and reactive strategies to mitigate the impact of bullying.  The judging team were unanimously confident students have an enhanced understanding of the ‘Care’ in the Samuel Ryder Academy ACE, leading to a 100 per cent pass rate.  The judges were particularly complimentary of the positive learning environment established within every form group, where members are quick to support each other.

We would like to thank all the judges for your support with the bully-free form assessment day.  We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all members of the Year 7 community for your exceptional achievement.  Well done!
