Music at Key Stage 4

Students are given the opportunity to continue studying Music at Key Stage 4. GCSE Music covers a detailed exploration of composition styles and also solo and ensemble performances. The course culminates in a written and listening exam based on music studied over the two year period.

Edexcel BTEC Music is also a pathway for students to study music at Key Stage 4, which is a coursework based qualification where students look at the world of music from a vocational perspective. Students at Key Stage 4 have the opportunity to receive instrumental lesson as part of these courses and all students taking Music in Key Stage 4 are involved extra-curricular groups or form their own groups.

The Music department collaborates with the Dance and Drama departments to offer Silver Arts Awards to students in Key Stage 4.
