Geography is an extremely topical subject in today’s curriculum. Barely a week goes by without the subject being in the media, whether it be a report on Britain’s changing weather as a result of climate change or a news clip of some form of natural disaster in a far away area of the globe.
Geography at Samuel Ryder Academy involves the study of the physical world and the interactions that humans make with their physical environment at the local, regional, national and international scale.
The Department is very well-resourced for effective teaching and learning both inside and outside the school grounds. There will be the opportunity for students to learn Geography outside of the classroom, in the local area and on field trips further afield. At GCSE all students will go on a field work trip as part of their coursework.
