English at Key Stage 3

The Key Stage 3 curriculum is designed to develop the skills necessary for the study of English and effective communication skills. Students are exposed to the work of William Shakespeare throughout Key Stage 3 and they also study a variety of novels, poetry and non-fiction texts. We try to update the novels we study as often as possible to increase student interest and currently study novels such as The Hunger Games and Noughts and Crosses. In addition, we aim to develop students' personal learning and thinking skills by integrating team work, participation, research, reflection and self-management tasks into our lessons and objectives.
