Remembrance Day Parade

11 November 2014

Thank you to the parents and children who attended the Remembrance Day Parade in St Albans.

It was very satisfying to hear all of the positive comments and that our children were exemplary in their behaviour.  Two of our Reception children walked with Mr Bailey, Deputy Headteacher, to lay our Samuel Ryder Academy wreath at the Cenotaph.  They were Ffion in Blue Class and Joseph in Red Class.

We also marked Remembrance Day on Tuesday 11th November within school.  We created a powerpoint presentation, complete with the Last Post, a reading of Flanders Field poem and a two minute silence. The children again were remarkable in their very sensible and adult like reverence during the presentation.  We had various members of staff from across the Academy joining us in the class room and all of them commented on the children's behaviour.
