On 11th November, the Primary school children, teachers, TAs and other members of the school community came to watch a PowerPoint presentation and discuss the meaning and importance behind the symbol of the Poppy.
The children then listened to 'The Last Post' and held a 2 minutes silence in their classrooms. It is important to us all at the Samuel Ryder Academy that the children grow up understanding the meaning of Remembrance Day and being able to be part of such an occasion. All adults present were very impressed by the children’s behaviour and concentration during the presentation and felt very proud to be part of Armistice Day.
